Best server to start out on?

Just started playing so I don't know the condition of the different Towns/Servers

Are some more cleared and empty than others?

What would be the Newest server is what im asking I guess : /

Don't want to play an an empty one with no resources (mostly depleted trees/ ruins that sort of thing)

Plymouth has The Tribe extorting pretty much everyone on the server.
Jamestown has been called simcity several times so I can only assume this one is the most peaceful.
Roanoke has several warring and competing factions + the most players from what I gather.

Not Plymouth.

Jamestown - If you want to mostly test PvE content as a hermit. There are no large factions and one plank wall and 20+ braziers makes you invincible.

Roanoke - Most players, a lot of raiders. Russians are semi-quit but still raid occasionally.

Since this is a Sandbox game that mostly relies on Player Generated Content for entertainment, I'm going to say Plymouth. It has the most players and the most dynamic politics.

If you're real lucky you can find someone nice.
