Playing with myself

Postby Indigownd » Mon Nov 12, 2012 2:43 pm

Hi,

I have a settlement in the middle of nowhere together with a friend. The whole idea of perma death is nice, I like it a lot, but it means I want to split skills among several characters. Right now I have a char focused on hunting, but I also want to get into a bit of agriculture. Can I somehow create the new char and teleport to the settlement? Can my friend teleport me there? Is my only option a looooong walk?

Yes, you can.

You need a claim as your homestead. Then set your homestead secret in buddy list.

Then create new character, go through tutorial and when you talk to the wilderness guide type in editbox your main's homestead secret and PRESS ENTER. Don't press complimentary guide button

before the last updates, you had to have the main char make a claim the homestead, it would not work with a lean to. my knowledge might be outdated though.

for whats it worth, some more details on how to get alts to the main can be found in this thread

As I found out the hard way, it would be a good idea to have at least one of your characters on a separate account so that you can have two active characters up at the same time for things like key attuning and item transfer.

Well, having characters on separate account helps, but keys can be attuned with one account as well, and items can be transferred in containers

Other than letting the character get KO'd first, how does one attune to another character on your account?

Well you can have a friend nearby help out with the attuning, get the locksmith skill on all the alts and make the copy master keys or do the above mentioned.

There really isn't an intended system designed to address this problem yet as far as I know.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.
