Issues Logging In

Posting for a friend...

So my friend is having issues logging into the game. The client says the "server cannot be reached". When trying to bring up the website it says "page cannot be reached". She had another friend try and he is having the same issues. And yet... I have no issues logging into the forum or the game. The server is listed as up and I see there are quite a few people in game and on the forums. So why is that?

And nevermind... its not working for me now either. So I'm guessing server is down?

You can fix it by adding :
148.251.44.214 game.salemthegame.com
148.251.44.214 login.salemthegame.com
148.251.44.214 forum.salemthegame.com

To your host file.

Cheers, good thing at least the fludd server works for forums for me xD other friends can see the forums but others still can't even see that, so that sucks.

Thanks for the help DarkNacht and Lachlaan. I was completely disconnected from the game and forums. Lachlaan helped me edit the hosts file on the IRC channel

What is a host file and how do I access it?

your hosts file is a file called hosts that is found in the folder c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

you edit it with a text editor and add the lines darknacht said to add, then save and log onto the game.

Is notepad ok or use a different tool. Saved it to all files but still didn't work
