Damage formula using for firearms vs wildlife ?

Postby SanityKeeper » Sun Mar 27, 2016 9:00 pm

I understand they only do percentage dmg vs other people but how is dmg vs wildlife calculated ? Is it worth getting a musket if I want to hunt deers ?

Firing at an animal uses hardly any gunpowder per shot, and its cheap as chips. The musket balls are more expensive per shot. Combined, per shot, its like 9.5 silver off the top off my head. So you can cut meat to shreds, cook, and get some gelatinous lard. 4 gelatinous lard will cover 10 shots with change when making soap and selling. I shoot beavers with my musket as I'm lazy and the produce collected covers any musket costs.
So I guess it comes down to something like if you need the lard more importantly for making brick walls or not.
Using the musket can pay for itself.

Your answer didn't really answer his question, I'm not sure of the exact formula for its damage, all I can say is against wildlife, the damage will increase with your biles increasing. Not sure exactly which biles, as I am a bit OCD increasing my biles together.

He asked 2 questions, I answered one without being able to get into specifics, and stated how I use my musket against wildlife for the second. I said I don't know the exact formula and someone else can fill him in with that should they know.

Can you explain to me how my answer was wasn't useful? I can tell by your post you have a lot to offer. Educate me please. I crave your knowledge.
If you have any time spare after schooling me here, could you answer my thread about iron tongs as well, thanks.

I may be wrong, but it seemed to me to be 1/3 of your YB. Test it out yourself and let me know if that sounds right

The last time I paid attention to it, was my jump from 30 ish biles to 50. I think the damage increased from roughly 55 ish to 65 ish. Not a great help I know, I could be off a bit. That was against beavers BTW.
Are you saying the 1/3 is against deer? Or maybe the musket has a minimum damage and 1/3rd YB gets added to the damage? I'm positive I'm doing more than 1/3rd YB against beavers.

Well for anyone still reading this : I ended up bying the musket . 52 to 62-63 damage on my first shot , full yellow /black and at 57 biles . That was after one shotting 10 deers . Not sure if it is worth it but I laugh my ass off each time I kill one so there is that .

Will this be a valid way to kill bears too if you are not at 200 or more biles but just around 100? Sounds like 3 shots may kill a bear!

IMO Bears are pretty easy to kill at 100+
