how do personal claims work?

i've been reading the forums and player turorials but im still a little confused on how claims work.

if i claim a piece of land is there a way for someone to steal it? or is it mine until i die. i know players can destroy evrything on the claim but can they somehow take it away?

its yours until someone drops a town claim and removes it

so a town claim trumps a personal claim? ok if i have a town claim instead can someone take that away?

Don't worry about people doing that to you, it doesn't happen that often.

But yes if you don't feed the town claim silver someone can break it.

its my first dwelling and wasn't planning on spending my entire stay here, but there is a very small lime quary near my claim didn't know if it was worth staking it to keep anyone from digging it.

oh yeah def worth taking as much of it as you can. Make a digger alt and transfer the lime through boston when you get a new place if you don't use it all up.

I never used to claim lime patches, but some people just dig out the lime they need from one spot - creating a hole - and move on instead of only digging from the highest points, so it can be used longer before you have to lower the land surrounding it. So yeah, I'd claim it.

1 more question there are a few bigger deposits near by but there is someone living next to them i take it it would be offensive to dig there wouldn't it? or is it no big deal? they look like hermits but much more advanced then i

lol depends on how they feel about it. if they don't have it claimed say ***** it and jack it from them.
