Move to Japan: 2 GBit down/ 1 GBit up without limit for (converted) 40€/month. Anything below this I wouldn't call "internet". :b

One of my friends has like 7GB/month download. But even 20 I find ridiculous, I use 3~GB every day just surfing net, and there are often some downloads running. I guess I'm not moving to Australia any time soon :(

It would just mean that the network isn't as much of a bottleneck as it is in other areas, just because you can get that kind of throughput does not mean you can't get slower speeds.

I burn it up easily even without movies.

I suggest emigrating.

Emigrate? Screw that! Overthrow your evil and restrictive democracy and install me as your benevolent dictator and I will decree that there shall be no data caps.
Seriously, how do you Aussies put up with that, I know people that would riot if their provider ever tried to charge them $70 for 20GB.

Emmigrate? yeah nah. Anywhere else in the world would be much worse for me.
I would gladly riot, if anyone would join me. Sadly most people in my area don't even understand that this is worse than just 'expensive' and don't care much about anything anyway. I will overthrow my evil 'democracy' as soon as I can though.

Anyway more on topic, when I'm off visiting my family the internet is even worse- $30 for 2GB lmfao. I still manage to play salem fine, though I don't dare do most the other things I usually do online.

Don't think she will EVER see that speed, her max will be the max speed of her HDD (max 500 MB/s)

Ethernet peaks at 1Gb/sec for your average computer still, and if you're on Wi-Fi, the latest routers coming out are 150 Mb/s, so all this does is allow you to have multiple nodes on your network streaming Netflix without noticing any slow downs.

There's at most a dozen devices in my house accessing the network at once, two on Ethernet, and the rest on 'N' wifi. When that many people are here, the most they're doing is Facebooking (damn teenagers--they're destroying the 'Net!! :P ) and maybe a YouTube or Netflix stream to the tv. I don't need more than the ridiculous speeds that are practically free with my cable tv service (since we also went with phone through them, too).
