Also i didn't mention purity anywhere:) Have you tried making pies after the farming update? Because a lot of humour values changed and sadly cabbage cakes are not as great as they used to be. So yeah, now even a simple beaver meat pie is better than a cake.

Anywho,i just gave another opinion, people can choose what they want depending on what they can get.

Well your numbers are wrong, Norino actually took the time to check it out:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7073
T1 bear pie has bb: 8.1/17.3/23.5/27.5, average: 19.1, far away from your 43! (I took the liberty to adjust the numbers to 1.00 purity, might be a rounding error in the last digit.)
I only have an oatmeal/green cabbage cake right now (t1.5 if you will), bb for 1.00 purity: 18.7/21.3/20.5/24.8, average: 21.3 (barley/green cabbage is 31-39, I will post exact numbers after my next baking session, if I remember I will try oatmeal/coleworth, too.)
Sure, everyone should try out the recipes for themselves and then decide, but factoring in the faster eating speed I highly recommend trying out cabbage cakes! Especially if you have access to t2 and higher crops, the difference will increase even more! T3 cabbage cakes are unholy!
Meat pies are still great, they give good numbers all around the board and are very easy to make. I often start my session with a meat pie and incease whatever the meatpie gives me. E.g. if it goes sulphur I'll go for yellow pie, etc. But for pure bb nothing beats the mighty cabbage cake!

Maybe i was misunderstood, when i said bear/deer pie i meant 1 bear cut+ 2 deer shreds (or the other way around, not sure:P) ,it gives better results than only bear. There is also a post from Darknacht on the second page of the thread you put, that confirms that mixed pies are better.

Which comes to what i think is optimal, using the t2,t3 cabbage for rolls/crumbs and meat pies for bb. If you can get some rye/barley in those pies you can get great results.

Cabbage cakes are OK early on but T1 cabbage cakes quickly become useless and unless you are swimming in higher tier goods its a waste to use them on cabbage cakes.
The key to meat pies is that they have 3 modifiers and BB is the only thing oatmeal is good for so you can make them with T1 crap.
Here are some BB values:
oatmeal/bear/beaver(1.01 purity) 9.7/42.1/35.4/47.0
oatmeal/beaver/bear(1.01 purity) 9.8/38.4/31.1/43.3
oatmeal/bear/deer(1.01 purity) 8.1/37.5/32.0/41.6
oatmeal/deer/bear(1.04 purity) 10.1/35.5/30.6/39.7

Also while Bear/Deer and Bear/Beaver pies are great, Beaver/deer pies give you plenty of BB until you can kill bears.
You should still make a few cabbage cakes to prevent invariance but once you can hunt deer or better you can use scraps to make much better rather than waste higher tier goods.
