Wild Tree purity?

Postby jrsydevil » Sun Apr 21, 2013 2:05 pm

So, I'm just getting to the point where I want to try to make a decent Compost bin. Question is.. Do wild trees have varying purities? Or do you have to start with a 25/25/25/25 cutting and influence it yourself with the pot?

Wild trees have null purity. You must start them yourself and you can influence the resulting tree's alchemy by:

* planting in a pot with alchemies you desire
* Filling that pot with humus with the alchemies you desire
* Watering the pot with water containing the alchemies you desire

All three of those are factored in when determining the alchemies of the resulting sapling.

And then of course once you get purity saplings, wait until you can get cuttings from them and then repeat this cycle because now the alchemy of that initially planted sapling will also influence the result of the next sapling

Thanks for the fast response! Wasnt sure if I needed to search around picking branches and checking purity... Can you give me an idea of how long it takes for a cutting in a pot to become a sapling, and how long a planted sapling takes before it will become a tree you can take cuttings from?

It takes about 56 hours for potted plants (including trees) to either become a sapling or a dead stick.

Then if you are lucky and got a sapling you plant it in the ground and wait approx one week for it to bear cuttings which you can use for the next generation

People are starting to get some trees with purity, but not sure if trading for cuttings will eventually be viable, just like trading for quality seeds. I'm not sure if, at this point, it's viable or not.

about the pot alchemy , does a kiln has alchemy that affect the pots too ? since we still can't see the alchemy of the strutures we built , its kind of a question whether
some structures will affect the alchemy of things make from it or not :?: :?:

No the kiln does not, which is easily verified by seeing the unburnt pot's elements prior to firing the kiln and the elements of the finished pot before you remove it from the kiln - it is the same
