immature Trees?

Postby qbradq » Tue Apr 02, 2013 8:58 pm

So I have some trees I planted in the ground about 4 days ago. They are about half as tall as their adult versions. When I right-click on them I get the options to Pick Branches and Chop. I do not get options for Pick Leaves (these are maples) and Strike Cutting.

So my questions are:

1. If I cut down an immature tree will it still yield 60 wood blocks or 20 boards?
2. How long does it take before I can strike cuttings or pick leaves from these trees?

Thanks for any advice!

no miniature trees give you less cuttings and look pretty cute cause the fallen log is also smaller

i thought within 4 days youd be able to get a cutting, but maybe its more like 8

All the wiki says is that it takes seven days for the tree to be full-grown.

Thanks for the tip! I'll hack one down and record my findings on the wiki.

I chopped down a young spruce I had planted which had only had about 3 days of growth, and its log yielded 24 wood blocks. Trees become stick sources fairly young (as soon as planted?) so can provide you with oven and kiln fuel fairly quickly. This has come in handy in re-organizing my base.
