Position occupied?

Postby JohnDubya » Sat Feb 16, 2013 6:01 pm

Hi, not sure if I'm posting in the right place, mods please move this if it belongs somewhere else. I cannot currently log in with one of my characters as it says
"The position where you last logged out is not available, because that location has become occupied. Would you like to restart at your homestead, losing everything in your inventory?"
.
This char had lots of arrowheads and a savage charm in his inv so I cannot click yes, also, he doesnt have a homestead, when I played last I destroyed the leanto, teleported to boston, and then walked miles to the homestead where my friends and my other char are. Also, since then a couple of houses have been built, its possible that I could be underneath a house - I have no idea whereby I was when I logged out.

Can anybody think of anyway around it? No point losing my inv and ending up back at boston and having miles to walk again. If Im back there I may as well just start yet another char.

Also, seperate question, but is it (or will it be) possible to delete chars?

Surely there should be some sort of collision detection upon login and if your position clashes with something you should be moved to a randon location within a VERY short distance without losing your inventory?

if you logged out on a claim then either you do not have the rights to be there and someone needs to give you the rights OR you logged out and at some point your friends put a object where you logged out. If you are on a claim then they need to give you permission. If there is a object in the way they need to move it. The only other way is to hit yes and go back to boston.

To delete a character you need to get it killed

Well there must be some way of doing it so it doesnt relocate you the other side of any wall or border?

I've found another problem with this... if you were carrying a rowboat when you got logged off, you can't log back on because the dropped rowboat is now in your way. They should drop the rowboat next to you on logoff instead of right on top of you.

I just had this happen. Someone was walking past my leanto and saw all my drying frames. I logged out incase they were killers and they must have claimed the land. *sigh*
