Already logged in bug

Postby GaraDasha » Thu Mar 28, 2013 1:59 pm

Hi, i left the house and right clicked to claim stone, when it was about to open the claim stone page, the client closed itself without a bug report or something else.
When i tried to log in back with new opened client, it say already logged in. I waited for 5-10 mins, tried again, still same problem. I've waited few more mins, tried with original client, still same problem.

I logged in with another account and saw my char standing next to claim stone. Its been an 30 mins and my last try didn't help. What can I do? I dont have a bug error report or anything else that i can send.

Any ideas?

Usually caused by a crashed frontend not exiting the JVM, just kill the JVM process.

Long version:
On windows:

open the taskmanager, go to processes and try to kill processes that are called "java.exe", take up a lot of memory (for me it is usually 800 MB+) and you know are not for other programs.

Be careful when any other programs you are running use the Java VM. If they have a frontend, you can eliminate their processes by going to the applications tab, rightclicking the applicable programs and choosing "go to process"

on UNIX (at least linux, don't know for sure about mac):

You should be pretty at home with the terminal in any case. "ps ux | grep java", and look for one where the startup arguments include salem.jar. Kill it to your heart's content
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
