Empty stumps in the darkness

Postby Orcling » Fri Mar 22, 2013 3:34 pm

So i've been wandering around in a pineforest fairly deep inside the darkness, checking empty stumps. I've probably checked at least 50 now and have yet to find a single thing, no smooth stones, no chestnuts, absolutely nothing.

So my question is, do empty stumps in the darkness have no loot?

someone here said stumps, old logs etc only roll to generate an item when a player loads it's grid, so it's very unlikely to find stuff in them in rarely travelled areas

^ is true. A stump has a chance to spawn an item each time the map loads, so if no one has ever been there, or few have, you will find a lot of nothing. That's why the best way to stump farm is to look around your own base or find someone else's base and check their stumps.
