New players use Enders Client.

I see all these threads about people that cannot log in and are having trouble logging in only to see others pointing them to the default client which is horrible. I don't know if the current player base doesn't want new players or what. But here is a tip. Everyone playing is using a custom client. Enders client is popular and im sure a few other groups have there own personal clients.

Without Enders Client you will most likely get frustrated and leave within a few days if not less. Trust me, use this.

Obviously some may be, but considering the amount of "I cant login" posts being directed to the default client some people need to know that there is a better substitute.

I was agreeing with you that of those who haven't quit already (after 2 weeks), probably 75% or more are using Ender.

If people want to try the game they should use the official client first, as it gives the first impression that the developers want them to have. People that will stick around and are interested in the game will most likely end up being told about Ender's client or look for a 3rd party client by themselves. I will only direct people to use Ender's client if they are having problem getting the JNLP from the default client to download.

And then there's the issues the modded clients can have. Although I like Ender's, it's hardly required to play the game (compared to HnH, where it was almost necessary). The two things I like about Ender's over the original is the extra hotkeys and the modifiable radar file. Beyond that... <shrug> nothing to write home about, anyway.

Sevenless has it linked in his guide. It's linked in the Useful Threads. I believe that we have enough references to it around here that anyone looking to improve their game will find it pretty quickly. Do we really need another thread on this? I think no.
