Halp me. Can't start the game.

Well, I'll be quick 'cause this is "simple", I try to start salem and a window pops up from Java being opened, after this my notebook just freezes for a while and then sometimes I got a bsod. Yeah. Nothing more. No salem windows no game, no fun.
Java is updated, version 7.

More importantly, do you get an error log when you boot back up? There should be a link saying something like "Show what this report contains." If you open it up (should need to click two links), you'll get some code and text. Copy/paste that into your post

Odds are this is graphics related and only graphics drivers need updating, but there could be other problems causing this. Nobody can say for sure without an error report.

Wouldn't graphics issues only trigger once you enter the world and all of it's 3D rendering goodness?
