The best way i've found to do this, is leave your sled at the top of the cliff, and go down to the bottom of the cliff, dig and build it up instead of trying to dig it down. Hope this helps ^_^

Does digging up will really help brah? The cliff will vanish and the animation climbing to a 10 cantimeter cliff wont occur?

Depends on how high the cliff is. If it's too high, building it up or digging it down will take too long, but it is doable and is practical up to a certain height. I had a spot near my old base that was about 4 units high (was 4 tile textures) and very long. Took a bit, but I was able to make a walk ramp up so I wouldn't have to climb or go around to do my foraging.

Forgive the joke, but: Urist McHauler cancels pull sled: cliff too steep. ;)

I reworked the "Dig" article on the wiki a few days ago: http://salemwiki.info/index.php/Dig

There is a section containing some basic information about how to deal with cliffs, as well as the problems of the orientation of a cliff (since by default, you only dig and deposit dirt to the corner NW of the tile you're in).
