Town bell reaches 0 authority then what?

Postby TheMapp » Mon Feb 25, 2013 4:13 pm

I recently laid a townbell down to free some of my citizens from a pclaim that imprisoned them inside a wall. I am trying to remove myself as mayor although I do not have access to the townbell any longer. The authority has reached 0 today and I cannot leave the town it says that I must renounce myself as mayor which would require me to have access to the townbell, which I do not, nor do I remember where it was at due to us moving shortly after laying this townbell down.

Is there anyway for me renounce mayor without physically being at the bell? Do I have to wait for the bell to be destroyed or degrade? If not can someone from COD contact me so that they may claim it? If I remember correctly you guys was north of town. It has reached 0 authority I will gladly give you citizenship so you may have the town.

When the bell decays, all relations with the town will go away at that time. (Any other behavior should be considered a bug and reported.) Since the town upkeep is no longer being paid, any and all structures that aren't in an upkept personal claim will decay and the town bell becomes vulnerable to destruction.

No one can become mayor without you un-mayoring town, so you need to go find your old bell and click on it physically only then can someone new become mayor. Its the game mechanics and working as intended, so it looks like you have to find your old bell that's the only way around it only way around it. If you lost it well tough luck kinda the nature of the game that why its a sandbox.

Wow... pull your head out of the deep dark hole you have it in, please. Yes, it's the way it works now but that doesn't mean it has to stay that way. A sandbox game is nothing more than a collection of tools with basic content as a starting point for deciding on what to do. If the tools are lacking, players can and will ask the devs to improve them. Quite often, they do get improved.

If you can't provide anything other than what has already been stated in Help! and state it in a respectful manner, please don't post here. This is a forum for new players and not elitist attitudes.

Its ok he pm'd me earlier about the stuff I was selling and wasnt' happy with the price. I can only assume this is his childish way of lashing out after that discussion.

I have added in suggestions something to allow us to renounce mayor through the menu options. Hopefully this will get some attention. Until then I am stuck in boston waiting for the bell to be destroyed or decay, due to our new town bell being up and not being able to be a citizen of it.

Wow, indeed. climber answered the question better than you did before him. If the answer is "No, you have to be physically at the bell" then climber is correct that the OP has no other option. Sure, things may change at some time in the future, but "Help!" is not the forum for such wishful thinking. I respectfully suggest you moderate your own post.

WOW indeed. :? ...It don't understand why you put my post in such a negative light. I was just trying to tell him that he has no option other than going there and that other things are pointless at this point. Magic I think you need 2 reevaluate yourself that dark hole you seem to be in. I think my post was respectful and without any negative comments. I have no personal dislike for the OP and was just stating my take on the current mechanics as they are.
