Yes, that does mean you need an actual claim, not just a leanto for someone to spawn to you. I think there is a way to teleport a party together as a spawn, but I've never tried it so I don't know how it works. I'm sure someone will soon chime in on how it works. :)

This hasn't been implemented yet. It is planned eventually.

I have just checked out after the patch the game if this thing has been finally implemented. Now, they even removed the button! WHYYY?
There wont be any feature to let friends to start together?? This sucks! I wont play with the game until some kind of solution is implemented.

When we try the things you mentioned (enter secret press enter and teleport), it does not work because it gives the message "The player has not settled yet.". But its ***** because i just settled with the wilderness guide 10 seconds ago, and i have my leanto. But my friend cant get there. I think the problem might be, that here settlig is not equal with setting up a leanto with the wilderness guide, but i need the personal claim stone thing. But it takes lots of time to get that skill and build a claim sign. And i dont want to grind alone. I want to play with my friend from the beggining, and start at a new place fresh. There is no way to do this?

Other than you both walk out from boston until you find a place you like, then no. You would have to get a claim stone first.

Just a tip for you new guys/starters....

Dont tell people you dont trust your password, greifers can spawn on you and at best piss you right off... at worst, bring people that want to dance on your still warm corpse :) and then steal or destroy all your stuff.

In addition, if you do want to get some "new" players and want to take the risk, Get a wall, and make an alt with a leanto outside the wall and a little walk from your settlement. You can verify people that way. But its still a big risk :)

No update on this issue? Still no way of playing together from the start?

You have three options, the first is to start over with your friends and walk together to find a place to set up camp. You could also quickly grab settling in a matter of hours, if you focused solely on that, then you're essentially a beginner along with them, you just happen to have a bit higher in a few skills.
Your third option is to suck it up and remember that this is a beta. It sucks that a feature isn't in yet, does it? A lot of features aren't in yet. The wilderness guide doesn't send you more than a 45 minute walk away from Boston, as far as I can tell. Party up your friends and tell them to hoof it, and that presents await them at your camp as incentive. If they can't be convinced to walk 45 minutes, then they're not going to play for more than a couple days anyway. It's a slow game, with a lot of walking.
