I've fought 4 Deer now, killed 2 and been KO'd twice.

My only successes were when "fought dirty": Once a deer was up against a cliff and I just kept hitting it until it died (I think it was trying to run away to do a charge, but kept eating cliff), and the other time a deer wandered up RIGHT next to my fence, and so I thought I'd try out the stomping trick.

I don't think I'll fight fairly against deer until I forge a sword for myself.

an easy way to kill a deer is if it is near a river.hit it and swim across the river, then just walk away until the fight is over then come back and hit it again, do this over and over until the deer is dead.

do recommend u can at least deal 8-9 damage per hit(since the deer have 15 health) that way u only have to hit it twice
don't know if the deer will disappear if u kill it on the river, but i would let it get away and then finish it off.

I know rabbits DO disappear when killed in the river, so I assume it would be the same with deer.

And if I could deal 8-9 damage in one hit, I'd just fight a deer fairly without bothering with any wall/river shenanigans.

Rabbits and crickets do because they can go in your inventory. Beavers don't because they leave corpses, so I assume deer wont either. Never killed one on water though. No idea about turkeys...

If you stay real close to it deer almost never charge. Doing this I've been able to kill them with nothing but uppercut at ~15 biles.

This^

Stay right on them until they stop then attack once and you can do that forever with only taking a hit or 2

Hmm...that makes sense. I'm just inexperienced at combat and so still have some difficulty maneuvering.

Would you recommend using Guard to save blood, or would that reduce your maneuverability and negate it's benefit in the long run? Would running or wandering be better for hounding the deer?
