Actually I wasn't able to set my hovel as homestead like I did for my leanto. So I can not use it to teleport as my homestead is still my old leanto.
Should I make a claim to make the hovel my homestead ?

You cannot make a house your homestead, You can make a claim your homestead.. so yes, do make a claim.

I now have a reason to build a house - I discovered the Darkness. It is a great place for me, the only place I would consider livable really.
