Is it possible to have a turkey farm?

I was wondering if I can put turkeys in a fenced area or do they despawn after a certain time?

They despawn, however, you can have a coop that they "live" in.

They will despawn.

But, if you use an alt to just stand near them 24/7 they will never despawn and you could listen to the turkey mating calls all the day long.
