Hey all - I want to give my alt character a key to my private claim fence...how do I go about doing that?

Make a slave key and atune it to them and give them the key. If its not on another account then just make a master and make sure it doesn't get killed/ko

How I gave a slave key to an alt on the same account:

Log on your alt.
Go to a place with a wall or fence enclosure of some kind.
Find an animal that won't kill you in a fight (crickets are good).
Aggro the animal.
Hide within the enclosure while still aggroed.
Log off and log onto your character with the key.
Find your alt then attune the key to him/her.
Leave the key somewhere the alt can get it, then log off.
Log back into the alt, then get the key and de-aggro the animal (kill it, run away, go indoors, etc.)
