DanneMM wrote:If you want pumpkins you should have started to plant cotton since it drains the influence that cereal gives. And as some guy above said that they give to one and drain from the others isnt true. Each crop drains only from 2.

not so. going by the wiki the crops drain from all 3 and give to 1. they at default planting they give 5 points to 1 meter and drain 5 from the other 3. increasing the influence meter will boost the total amount you get on the meter it "feeds" when you harvest it.

~proof from the wiki: Note: There is currently a possible bug where all crops actually drain 5% from every meter besides the one it contributes to. So for example, instead of Cabbage draining 5% from only the 3rd and 4th meters, it also drains 5% from the 2nd meter as well. The amount it contributes to the meter it produces output to seems unchanged.~

unless they patched farming that makes the crops only deduct from its primary meters, but i have not see or heard about them changing that at all. no one has stated other wise either.

pumpkins you have to raise its 2 drain meters to upgrade the tier i believe then when after you do that the influence will determine the tier you get. if its drain meters are both over 50 points. then at 500% you should pretty much get tier 3 pumpkins if you let it grow long enough (going by the info on the wiki)

At the moment, i have fields of Cereals growing with an average of 200% influence on each field planted. The second bar is at 12 right now.

My goal is to get a high tier plantation of Pumpkin later on.

What would be the steps to follow to get to that point ?

If I understand it correctly, you need to keep growing Cereals until the second bar reaches ~100, then switch to Cotton to get the third bar up as high as possible. This will drain the second bar a bit, but if you spam enough hay/humus/turkey poo you'll have a decent window to grow tier 3 pumpkins. And, as an added bonus, you can get some tier 2 cotton in the process.

See the wiki page on Agriculture for the details. The crop rotation table is a nice reference when you're working towards specific higher-tier farming products.

Ha, that is what i was trying to do ... I am replanting crops of cereal so i can get the second bar to 100 and will then switch to cotton and do the same, this way, i should be able to get some high tier pumpkins :)

What confused me was the difference between the actual influence and the numbers showing on the different bars.

Thanks for all the help :D
