The entire purpose of the NPC seemed to be to spread out the population, in my world it would be more logical and user friendly that it only made a new homestead if you didnt have one previously. It seems unlogical that im not allowed to sample the world without giving up all my possessions or wandering around for hours upon hours. But thats silly of me, that would make people more likely to keep playing the game.

Doesn't seem to be much of a problem since you are the only person of 100s to think like that.

Teleporting to random places on the map without moving the leanto would be a nightmare and abuse mechanics with tracking. Sample the world all you want all you have to do is walk away from your claim. Teleporting to random places isn't exploring at all.

Granted I dont know much about tracking but I would venture a guess that if you already were in boston, people tracking you would already have a hard time doing anything to you. And the concept of exploration has nothing to do with the method of transportation, just because you like the rustic way of traveling does not make mine any less explorative.

You are very wrong.

I think this thread is over esp with how we are derailing now. If you have a idea for this to change you should put it in the right section.

Enough of the trolling/flaming/whatever you want to call it. This is the help forum. Try to treat people with a bit of respect, whether they deserve it or not.

Sorry you made an assumption about how things work. A lot of us have put a lot of time into crafting the wiki, making new player guides, and other resources so people won't fall into these little "game traps". When it comes to computer programs, it is usually much safer to assume things work the exact same way every time than to assume something will be different on subsequent uses. We (those that have worked on developing these resources) could have overlooked adding in a small fact such as this. Sometimes us techy people make assumptions about what others may or may not understand, too, and it leads to miscommunication or not including a fine detail. If this kind of information is missing, it'd be a great help to the community to point it out.

Unfortunately, unless you know where you lived in relationship to Roanoke, there is no way to get yourself back there. You could spam random spots as fast as you could make silver and never get back to within a reasonable distance of your old homestead.

I just went to Roanoke and while I was there, I checked the wilderness guide to see exactly what it is that he says. Unless the text was changed between when the OP had this issue and when I just took this screenshot, it very clearly tells you what happens if you make use of his services.

You can find Croatoan to the South from Boston.
