Building Signs

If you put down a sign (say Pilgrim's Hovel) and then partially build it (put in 6 nails, Build) will that sign post decay? I want to get my hovel's spot reserved on my claim while I go craft boards, but I don't want to lose the six nails I have if the signpost decays any.

If it is on your claim, it shouldn't decay.

One thing to remember is that others can take materials out of that sign or simply destroy it.

Take materials out that have already been Built: no

Destroy yes :< do signposts have one fix health pool or does it depend on what you are building?

Just to update this, I just had 20 boards thrown all over the place just now due to storing them in a pilgrims hovel, Strange as I've had them stored before without any problem, Only difference I noticed was it was on grass (claimed) rather then pavement, So just be careful when holding valuable items in signs
