DARK FOREST

Postby LoveThySelf » Mon Dec 03, 2012 6:00 pm

Just got knocked out in the dark forest... my black bile was low cause I usually study while I'm exploring and all of a sudden I fall to the ground knocked out. I go wtf? look around and sure enough I'm in the dark forest. don't know how long I've been in it, just know that that is what knocked me out. Cant we get a notice please when entering the dark forest.. if not an actual popup how about signs on trees saying beware dark forest ahead.. something.

I know that I should have noticed the area getting darker but it happens so gradual on my computer I don't notice until I see my stats dropping, or as in this case, falling to the ground knocked out.

The first time you enter darkness, you get a popup. After that, well you just have to be careful :)

I've yet to be out to the darkness yet, is the change in lighting that subtle that you can't notice it well at that start? There has been a couple pics of people deep in it where it's quite dark, so was wondering about this, before I go get myself lost/dead/etc in it. :3

it is very subtle. You most likely wouldn't even notice the first time you enter the darkness if not for the darkness tooltip that pops up.

If you use Enders client you can press CTRL+D to bring up the light elevation details, if that goes below 25 your humours will slowly start to drain and you will no longer regen from eating.

Hmm.. I walked into a forest area that was markedly darker than the surroundings and I didnt get a pop up. I barely went in there though.

There are dark shaded forests, but that isn't the darkness. The darkness is a lighting effect (biome doesn't matter currently). Dark forest + darkness = very dark forest?
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

There were turkeys there. I didnt dare go near them as they might have been possessed.
