Yellow Bile, and it depends on what attack type you are using:

Just to give an example for punch to one-hit a cricket you would need 40 current Yellow Bile:

2.5 * sqrt(40/10) = 5

Uppercut is better in all ways than punch, at least early on if I'm reading the formulas.

It says instakill for cricket is 15yb with uppercut, but that seems off to me for some reason? Been a while since I was in game murdering crickets.

Pro Tip: Backyard pugilism and Fast moves do wonders for your ability to hunt.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

I am one-shotting crickets with thrust (fencing) until my yellow bile gets down to about 8 or 9.

PS: I finally realized there is a good use for stomp as an opener against creatures: sometimes rabbits and crickets are so close to a tree that if you kill them in one shot you can't pick them up and, when one finally has that 40 yellow bile and can't use punch to pull any more, stomp will still be there.

you need 10+ to one shot a cricket with thrust.

The formula has been changed since then I'm guessing. I knew it didn't sound right. Uppercut gains damage with reel I believe now.

As for thrust: Use it if you can't do it with uppercut (either can't, or your stats have drained below that point), but it has quite a bit more YB drain I believe.

So use thrust until 25 or whatever YB you need for uppercut. Use uppercut until you get down to that level, then switch to thrust.
