Claiming land

Postby yozzik » Thu Mar 02, 2017 12:07 pm

Greetings, salemites.
After a long brake i'm here again. My Tenebrae Abbatia fell, as the highest walls fall under the force of time.
So, for a new land to claim i'm going deeper into no man's land of Lumberwoods. I can cover desired area for around 4 000 - 5 000 silver with a personal claim while setting up a town bell will fall into 10 000 and more.

And here is what i have to ask: what are the pros and cons of a personal claim and town claim for a solo player?

if you can pocket the expenses, go for both. You definitely want the townbell because it gives you a 24h warning before anyone can start destroying buildings in your base (because they need an active waste claim).
Towards the future, town claims are easier/cheaper to expand and are not restricted to rectangular areas.
personal claims still trump town claims with regard to permission management, but if you're a solo player you'll likely not need much of that. I like my player claim purely for the ease of porting to providence wherever I am on my claim :)
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
