Can't leave tutorial, Am i missing something?

The game, at my point, is telling me to leave the indian camp and head to the big city. so i press the buttons to head to the city. nothing happens. no reactions. i try to head home, same thing. dump everything but my axe, nothing as well. try talking to everyone in the indian camp, no one has anything to say.
