PvP tips?

Which moves are useful in pvp?

I havn't done any pvp yet but was wondering how people fight? All the moves seem so slow.

Find somebody to practice with. Until you become confident in your fighting abilities, phlegm and run mode are your best option.

Best PvP tip: Don't do it for real unless you intend to make it a lifestyle. Hardcore pvpers will have so much more experience on average that they'll rip through anyone who isn't dedicated to the fighting arts or extremely skilled.

Even if you've sparred a bunch, just keep that in mind. Nothing in the game is worth more than a well developed character right now except infrastructure. And recent changes make that form of griefing unlikely unless you really pissed someone off.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

I wonder what the life expectancy of a solo PvP character is. Without a super strong base of operations and people to help you, it will just be a matter of time before some rangers come along and end your reign of terror with extreme prejudice.

It's not much longer than the first crime is committed on that character, but that's what they're made for, dying. I always log in fully expecting at least one fighter to be gone from my character list.

very short, in my experience (although there were two of us). but dying is pretty fun, shame people mostly just summon kill though :(

You will be happy to know that I have stopped my summon killing ways, and now will only kill in combat. Come at be bro.

On a more serious note, I agree with staxjax, it just takes practice. It would be nice if we get a 'spar' option soon, but in the mean time if you're worried about leaving summonable scents just don't KO your sparring partner. Designate a 'safe zone' to retreat to if one of you gets too low on blood.

i'm totally non-butthurt about dying, and seriously i don't blame you for summoning me, waiting to find someone online is always a pain, even if its not a risk.
