Returning Player asking about Silver Bars

So I played years ago, back in December of 2012, and enjoyed the game greatly but the people I was playing with stopped playing and I fell out of it too. Now I have come back a few times here and there but it never stuck. This time I really have enjoyed the bit I have played since returning and just have a few questions. Any tips for someone just starting off? Also, I read on the wiki that you can turn silver bars into 250 coins but I have looked around but can't figure out how to actually do it so any help? Thank you.

IIRC you need Silversmithing and a Crucible.
