Do i need the supports on the mined tiles? Is there any cavein risk when not mining walls?

I dont believe there is any risk of a cave in until a new tile is mined. However, when a cave in occurs it can affect tiles previously mined.

My method is to not build any supports in advance, keep mining and until the cave in starts, I build the support with the materials I had been lugging around.

Bump.
Is it safe to remove the supports from the already mined area if u got supports at the mining front (borders)?

Place 2 mine supports next to each other. Mine all the tiles in the radius, you can then remove the 2 mine supports.

Any mine supports that are built DO NOT CAUSE cave in's when broken.
When you cover a cave-in with a mine support the game remembers there was a cave-in there. That is why the cave-in returns when removing the mine support that covered it in the first place.

If you do not want any mine supports cramping your organization plans then never cover a cave-in. Of course, if you follow the tip to place 2 mine supports next to each other then you will never have a chance of a cave-in(2 supports removes all chance of cave-ins from happening in the radius of the 2)

So the cave-in risk is calculated only when mining new tile or removing the support from the place of the old cave-in? I sleep there so got to be sure :D
Edit:
And im moving my mining front forward always with 2 supports covering eachother

If you covered a cave-in, it will always return if you remove the mine support that covered that cave-in.

Yes, mining new tiles is the only way to have chance for a new cave-in. But having 2 mine supports negates the chance of any new cave-ins in that area.
