They can still get at your claimstone and steal your stuff, but destroying the house to get at stuff in there is probably "too much work" for a lot of people.
Of course, the raiding changes may change all of this. Not that I know how exactly since I am not privy to anything JC is planning.
The one thing to note is paying personal claims. I do not want to divulge just yet what I have recently done but it does fall back to a very specific rule. Keep those claims paid!!! An unpaid claim can be a death sentence and loss of everything built where as a paid claim just means a loss of items.
