When giving out your homestead secret does that allow players to travel to your homestead? Is it dangerious to give out your homestead secret without knowing the person?

this used to be the case: historically it was a very bad idea to hand out your HS.

Nowadays, a homestead secret can only be used to kin you, and the only drawback is that people can then spam you as much as they want, and see whether you are online or not.

People can ONLY spam you as much as you allow them. You can always "End Kinship" and/or change your HS. Changing your HS will not affect your other kinships and it will prevent your active HS from being passed around without your approval.
