maybe you can exchange it by copying another cached file here and rename it to the windmill cached file.

But be cautious, I haven't tried it.

As said in my first post I tried messing with these.

You deleted it, he is suggesting renaming it and adding a different sound file and naming it the same thing. This would avoid the game redownloading the file, because it wouldn't be "missing". I think this should work, thank you! <3

Could you post as to how you got on with this. Busy doing stuff so can't mess around with it at the moment. I have thought to myself that replacing it with another cached sfx file might not work as I imagine the windmill to be running on a continuous loop.

I'd say, just try it out. In the worst case you have to delete (=uninstall) local content (which is only cached anyway) and it will be reinstalled by running the Java Web Start Launcher the next time.

To "uninstall", just delete

C:\Users\<username>\Salem
C:\Users\<username>\.salem
Maybe you also have to delete the cached Java files via the Java Console (not sure about this): "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_77\bin\javacpl.exe"

You can not uninstall it via Microsoft Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features, because SAlem is just as a Java Web Start Application and it won't show up here. It is just some "content" started by the Java Web Start Lauchner, which is part of the Java installation (which shows up in the Microsoft "Programs and Features" console).

If you made changes to the configuration (e.g. the radar.xml configuring the minmap pointers), just make a backup copy.
