Field taking infinite humus

Hey all I have a tilled field that I am trying to plant. I left click on humus right click on field and the field keeps taking all my humus. I thought it stops at 5?

Sounds like you were visited by a crow. Check your field's upkeep, is it 600%? When this happens you need to spend 6x the humus to prepare it as when it's 100% (ie, the first time you plant on a new field), so 30 humus. You also need to spend 6x the seed, which means you need to use a seedbag so you can hold that much seed while you plant.

Crows suck, build questionably effective scarecrows asap as it's really annoying.

On the plus side, once you've prepared with humus and planted with seed it drops all the way down to 100%, so if you want to bring it down to 50% at that point you can without too much trouble.

You will lose purity of the field that way

And any accumulated influence if you care about either of those things.

If you're only using the fields in question for spamming 0% T1 junk like yellow stained cloth to sell in town or something like that then yeah, makes sense to remake them in that case. Otherwise, humus is cheap so it's not that big a deal.
