How close can two pclaims be to each other?

Just curious, how many tiles away must two pclaims be from each other?

To simplify, how many tiles must be in between two pclaims?

Not thinking straight, don't even need the pclaim paper.

7 squares from someone elses pclaim stone. Or if it goes from the border not the stone, 5 squares.

I tested this against someones little 5x5 pclaim. I don't know if the distance required is greater if the persons pclaim is expanded past the initial 5x5.

edit, its not going to go from someone pclaim stone as this is variable, duh.

I didn't actually place a stone down when finding out the gap was 5 squares so don't know if I could expand the claim to narrow the gap.

But if i did put that claim down, the border to border gap would have decreased to 3 squares.
