Hm what am I suppose to do if the node I find with the rods is somewhat to far away from my homestead?... it's really way to far away.

Deal with it, move your home to it, or set up an alt with a claim on it to transport you the ore (which is still kinda dealing with it).

No easy answer.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Higher purity, possibly. But don't expect mining nodes to be near your base. If you want one like that, you'll have to search for it and then move beside it generally speaking. Often better purity mines are 1-2 hours walking distance away.

Took us 15 mines and 2 weeks to get 4.0 purity multiplier. And we covered about 1/5th the server to find that mine.

Mines are completely random. Expect them to be unfavorably located if you don't place your base essentially on top of one. Which is exactly what I did in Plymouth originally. The higher the purity, the rarer the mines become.

ores, but if you don't use lime you can get bars that purity. The location of that mine is long lost now.

Mainly Lover's Lockets. You can see the higher quality ones for sale in some of the player owned shops in Boston. And I think I remember someone saying higher Q dowsing rods allow you to find higher Q ore nodes, but I haven't tested that out so don't quote me on it.
