1. When setting up torchpost/brazier defense, I understand that 3 criminal action is required to trigger them, on a per claim area basis. My question is what constitute a criminal action: an object destroyed on claim (therefore 3 layer walls = best practice))? a single container or 1 single item looted? 1 single attack or 1 person killed? Picking up heavy object (Old logs serve as walls)? Opening gates (even if unlocked)? What other actions will count toward defense triggering? Are there actions that will trigger defenses immediately? (like attacking the turret itself)
2. Can a firearm shoot over walls? I'm asking because say if say someone robs me and I track them to his/her claim to find out it's defended in the 3 walls/turret configuration, can i summon him online and just shoot him while standing outside his claim? How good is firearm in PvE and PvP? I'm debating shooting for it though I already have fencing, and wondering if it's worth shooting for. Is firearm the only safe way to tackle snakes?
3. Is it optimal at all if I'm holding off on a full claim fence to just make a small 3x layer gate in front of my house's door (and keep the most valuable stuff inside)? With torchpost right against the door? Here's what I mean:
H-house
D-Door
W-Wall
G-Gate
T-Torch or brazier

4. Instead of a fully walled defense, are there viable temporary defenses that is easy on accommodating claim expansion? I don't want to fully wall my claim til it's got all the space I need, meanwhile how best to defend the claim?
5. For a small settlement of say 2 very active players and 2-3 casual players, it seems more viable to just pool to one player to set up a communal claim. Trust issue aside is there something a Town can give us that a single large claim won't? I also notice that with town claim other people can actually wander in.
6. How best to take on a deer? Currently it's a 50/50 battle for me if I attack them in the open. I try to stick to it's back and keep attacking, the problem is I almost never manage to hit it this way unless I catch it attacking me. Usually I can win if I engage them in an area with a lot of obstacle, which I'll keep between us until the deer homes in on me for an attack that is not a charge (to which I will counter for a hit). My stats are 28b 26y, I use uppercut as I don't have a saber yet (soon!).
6.5 What stats, equip and tactics should I have for bears

7. My current combat style is lacking, I would uppercut to start, then keep a distance away from the enemy while circling around, as soon as I can tell the enemy has homed in on me for an attack I would time a counterattack (trading hit for hit). Is there actually a way to go on the offensive? Whenever I do I just miss as the enemy sidestep and counter while I'm winding up, giving them a free hit.
8. I notice that a lot of moves do damage based on enemy imbalance and reel, but I don't know what moves give which effect in what amount to enemy, and how fast the effect decays! Currently I just uppercut everything but I can't help but feel that I'm missing out on good combos. Any combat veteran shed some light on this?
9. How best to use stomp since from the threads I read it's apparently a staple move? I noticed that there's a min range as it doesn't hurt anything right in your face. The wind up is also pretty long and it's not useable mostly to start an encounter (they just move out of range most of the time while you're winding up). The only way I can think of to use is when the enemy homes in on you so you can time the stomp.
10. I read that lean to and houses can protect item decay and that this is very useful for animal corpse. Does this mean to carry whole deer using the heavy object command to dump them into houses or leantos? Can bears be carried this way?
11. do old logs, old stumps and wood pile regenerate?
12. Are there shortcut function to pick up nearest item on ground with 1 button/click? or to pick up item with 1 click using either minimap and normal view? Currently I right click the item either on ground (hard when I'm zoomed out) or minimap then selecting "pickup". I otherwise know all the mouse shortcut for filling containers/fireplace and construction.
Phew quite a list, thanks in advance for any answers!
