Pitchfork

So the pitchfork sometimes gives me two hay per collection - is that one free hay or is it pulling 2 points from the stack when it happens?

Extra hay ;D
Without pitchwork you should have 40 hay per stack
With pitchwork 40+ (ex. 45)
