Many people dig for lime and the lime pits become less and less , do they refresh in any way ? Or other players will no lime to use ?

No it's a resource that depletes.

There is a way to restore lime pit, but it also takes time. Probably faster is just to port lime.

Considering how much time obviously went into Some aspects of the game to make it true to the period - I can't understand why Lime is completely ignored in the historical context.

Without going into a full history of mining and smelting -- the short is that More lime was created than quarried in the colonies because in many cases deposits were too far to realistically haul to a settlement, so they just kilned stone to make it.

Stone placed in a kiln with a long cook time should produce lime.

If it would take something like a day in game I think that would be a fair way to manufacture lime. However, idea of using "any stone" kind of cripples it since dross counts too: this would just deplete stone quarries instead =P

Please keep suggestions to the I&I section to avoid confusing people.

Currently, the only two ways to get Lime in the world are to forage the individual pieces, which is very inefficient, or to quarry a boulder from a lime pit and chip it.

There are such a ridiculous number of lime pits in the world still, we don't currently have any plans to change that, but I'm sure if it becomes a problem in the future, we can do something.

That would actually be interesting to see Salem's gameplay when all the lime pits start to deplete, pilgrims struggling to find even a single piece of lime. The factions would soon rise to protect their quarries and chaos will erupt as the fight for the precious white stone intensifies. After the War of the Little Limestone would be over, the few survivors would wander Salem in the forlorn hope of finding a remote pit, unbelievably pristine, as a beautiful jewel preserved in a case of gleaming silver. Only then would the lone pilgrim find true joy and happiness and and only then would he think of England.
