Beavers causing my client to crash

[strawman]

I tried hunting beavers today and as soon as I attack one the whole screen goes black and it says "Loading..." and gets stuck there. I can still see the entire interface and am able to even chat with other players, but the entire rendering window is black. What's up with that? Fought rabbits and crickets with no problem like this

Had to log out of the game and come back in to restore the rendering window

Oh, and I am using the Latikai custom client
