Branding

Any update on this issue? Over half of my animals do not allow branding. From what I can tell, if I am quick enough after they mature (sometimes at work) I can brand them. If I take too long, someone notices it matures, I get home, cannot brand. Same with babies, if I brand as soon as I purchase I can brand, sometimes if I notice they were born (assuming I took too long).
