Weird claim mechanic got my canoe stuck

So I was just exploring and was going down this river on my canoe. I passed some guys camp, it looked awesome btw, and landed as the river came to an end. Somehow I was able to sail into the territory, it didn't block me off and I had no idea I was in the claim and when I tried to pick up my canoe I realized that there was a claim there and my canoe was blocked off.

I have no intention of trespassing, my crime was off, but now my canoe is stuck. My point is shouldn't the claim have blocked me off in the first place when I was sailing down the river so I could have avoided that area? Also, is there any way I get it back?

Oh, can my canoe get tracked back to me? I hope that guy doesn't track me down and demolish my camp cause he looks strong.

The guy could not know who you are from having a new canoe on his land, and I doubt he'd be mad... You are allowed to enter the town, but you're not allowed to manipulate anything on it. I.E. you cannot open gates, open chests and pick up items, including your canoe. Only way to get it back is to either steal it, ask nicely. Or wait until the claim runs out of silver.

I got the same problem with my canoe (spotted two tasting beavers on a shore) and was unable to get back my canoe. I wanders for 30 mn around the village (Eisen) and didn't find anybody. Regarding the state of the fields and the summer time, I guess they were all in holydays... I gained my trepassing and robery skills around (took 1 more hour) and "steal" back my canoe...

If we can land the canoe, we should have to get it back. Or, the best way, should be to be unable to shore to an unauthorized "action" land.

This will surly not get fixed but rather listed under the tears section. When i was a fresh noob in a world past I too was out wandering about and found this really cool island. honestly i was told this island was in the area but curiosity got the better of me. I too got off my canoe with the mind set that if i can get out I can get back in right? Well I was definitely wrong. Now being that I knew what island I was on I became very nervous. There was no way in hell i was going to commit a crime there. I got very lucky that i could swim far enough to a small piece of ground where I could port back otherwise I would have had to KO my character. Trust me It would have been a bad mistake to leave a scent there. I only hope that you have not made that mistake. Mistake #2 might be posting about it. Now every blood thirsty town near water is out looking for scents?

There is nothing here to fix. Trying to interact with anything on a town or personal claim is a crime. By the time you have advanced far enough to get a canoe, you should have learned a little bit about crime, claims, and that you shouldn't leave your canoe on someone else's land and expect to get it back.

Once again, I don't know if there is something to *fix* about the game mechanic, but, at least, in a logical way, if you are able to land on a shore, it seems logical to be able to step back in your own vehicule. If it is not a simple way, coz I guess the games can't easily evaluate who is the real owner of the said vehicule, it should be possible to *warn* the honest sailor that he is on a claim land. Because, when you're in your confortable canoe and you cross a land/water which is claimed, you don't have any warning. The same way, if you board your canoein Prov and sail back to Europe, you will have the message "You are leaving Providence" when you will disembark, in England

So, not to fix, but perhaps, to improve?

Oh, and BTW, learning about crimes, my fault, I was living in a world of peace (I guess it's because I started this wonderfull game in July) and didn't read a page about crimes. I learnt the basics crimes prof in this piece of salty coast, just to get back what I consider to my own.

Sure it can - the owner of the land it is on.

Possibly you could make disembarking require trespassing, thus making sure anyone disembarking gets a warning.

This seems like common sense to me, you should not be able to commit crimes without turning it on. You should have to turn it on to get off your canoe in someone else's claim

If you use a custom client then you can turn on the claim visbility.
If you see a red area then don't get out of your canoe.
It is simple.

If you put things on other owned claim then is it the item of this owner.
One of the first things that you just have to learn if you new in Salem.
