New homestead but how to find old claim stone?

I joined a town and created a new homestead thinking I could use my New World Survey to get back to my old claim to get all of my good loot. So I created an alt and gave him the survey, but forgot that the survey was created in one of my cotton fields that is fenced in with a locked gate...long story short, my alt is trapped in the fence with no materials to build a leanto. If he travels back to Provi, then I don't know where my old claim is since the survey is lost when traveling the first time. Someone told me there was a way to find your active claim stone itself even though I have a new homestead set, is this correct? Or is there a way to find the location of my alt by looking on a map somewhere or something and then traveling to that spot with my main? Thanks in advance for any help.

That old claimstone is no longer your active one so you can't use your homestead pointer to get to it. Fortunately, you have an alt there. Party the alt and click his portrait from your other character. You'll automatically start walking toward him and can use that to lead you back to the claim. Attune a key to him when you get there so he has access.
