Mr. Puggles on strike?

I'm trying to delete a character, I have 150 silver in my inventory and i click the "End this mortal coil" button when speaking to Mr. Puggles but nothing is happening. What am I missing? Or is he simply on vacation?

Never mind, there was a corpse blocking my way. As the great book says, "it is finished" now.
