Returning player - quite confused

Postby Ariander » Mon Jul 13, 2015 5:38 pm

Hi,

Played for quite awhile during the first beta release of the game and then just signed up yesterday since the re-release and out of beta status.

I'm confused on the following and would appreciate any help or pointers to threads or websites to read up for myself on these topics:

1) Was there a complete player wipe when the game came out of Beta last month? I.e. Did everyone start over?
2) What exactly are the differences between Providence and Popham?
3) Is there a sort of definitive list of all the changes that have been implemented in the game between the releases? (original beta and current servers)

That pretty much covers most topics pretty well...I have discovered the wiki and am slowly going through the forums to see what I can learn there as well, of course.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Ariander

1) There was no wipe, and there is no plans for any wipe.
2) Providence is the permanent long-term, large, slow, and 'safer' server.
Popham can be ended by a witch, is small, fast, and is generally easier to be found and killed.
3) viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13240 This is a great thread that explains a lot of the differences before and after the Mortal Moments Acquisition of the title.

Enjoy Salem!

Care to comment if "rare" drops are more common in Popham than in Providence?
I might be just lucky, but checking to be sure..

There was no wipe since our company Mortal Moments took over the game. Jorb and Loftar did wipe the servers at one point and restarted with one server called providence but that was over a year ago.

Odd, typed out a whole reply and it seems to have not posted for some reason.

Anyway, to sum up - thanks much for the info - will be reading that thread carefully! I suspect I'll spend most of my time (which I am really enjoying right now) on Providence - though once I get re-familiar with everything again, may take a run at Popham. I've never been a big PvP'r, but I do enjoy risky PvE - which sounds like Popham is as well. But my biggest interest/joy as a player is building and trading.

Also congrats to Mortal Moments on the acquisition (and say what you like but I think Jorb and Loftar are brilliant game makers - pls no flaming and NO I don't know either of them personally) and here's wishing both Mortal Moments and Seatribe much success - I hope the game stays around for a long time!
