Selling myself

Postby Indigownd » Tue Nov 13, 2012 4:59 pm

Been trying to figure out how to get one of those trade stalls back in the main city. I heard somewhere that the upkeep is 300 silver weekly, but nowhere have I been able to actually rent one. Can I share administration with friends, or is it a one-person-venture? Any light shed on the subject is very welcome!

He/she who buys it first has control. I *think* you can share access with other players, but that entails letting them have access to all the silver and items you put in as well. As such it's usually done via communal villages that work together.

No reason why you can't open a trade thread in the Trade Winds forum and sell that way though. No tax on your sales =>

Alright, thank you. But -how- do I buy it? :)
Who do I talk to? Where do I go?

Last I understood you paid silver to the barter stand itself? Ones for sale shouldn't have a canopy over them. I've never done it myself sadly so I honestly can't explain more than that.

It costs 5000 upfront last I checked as well.

You right click on empty stand and window will open. It costs 2500 to buy it, and 300 weekly upkeep. Although biggest problem is the lack of free stalls. When I checked 3 days ago there was only 1 left on Jamestown so it's probably taken now. Plymouth's stalls are all taken as well

"Selling myself"....... I though he was going to sell HIMSELF, like a slave :( I could really use some slaves to flatten my village right about now...

I doubt stalls are worth it at all. 300s a week? Highly doubt they even make that much in the whole week. If people wanted to buy something for real they would go to the trade thread. Better prices too.

I thought raiders were the approved community for flattening villages...

Stalls would be worthwhile if you are producing and selling significant amounts of iron, nails, cloth etc. on a regular basis. Not needing to interrupt your game to meet buyers and not having to go through the whole trading dance that is implied by the lack of any form of secure trade UI would make it worth the 300 silver.

Somebody could make 1000s of silver a day on a stall selling by just selling nails at 15-20s a pop, if they could manage to keep them stocked all the time. It is a lot more convenient than trying to hook up with somebody from the forums. And yeah, I know from experience that stalls have the potential to make bank as long as you stock the right items that people will buy.
