Cant destroy my fence?

Ok I made a makeshift fence on my property ( my claim) but I accidentally screwed up and placed one piece of fence going the wrong way which is now off my claimed land, but I cant destroy it. Why is that? I keep hitting and hitting and it stays at 0%. Anyone?

You will need to raise your biles. You can also extend your claim so that part of the fence is included. It will make it easier to destroy.
