I was talking about spaces between walls. And like John said, there is no 'safe', but 4 is so-so, 5 is pretty good, and 6 is even better if you can afford so much spacing. Beyond that, most people won't think it worth the effort to try to splash your wall, they'll just come in force and break it down directly.
