To Kill A Bat

I've been swing at these things and haven't hit one yet. Then he keeps lodging in my neck. It takes me several tries to get him out, but when I do, I can't seem to get away or kill him. A little help please.

I've had some success with stomp. Halbred might be ok, but switching to a weapon takes a little time, stomping does not.

From what I heard, when he attaches to your neck, you need to pull him off, by placing him into the inventory, and then just right click to butcher him. I could be wrong though, that's a 'word of mouth' thing I heard of, never experienced it myself.

i killed him with a stomp, butchered him in my inventory and got a fang.
